Unit4 cloud products are delivered as multi-tenant SaaS on Microsoft Azure or, for Source-to-Contract, on Amazon Web Services. Each one is described in a Cloud Service Description that “set[s] out the descriptions, deliverables and responsibilities from a technical perspective”.[1] The SaaS Terms incorporate these descriptions. The Service includes “one Production Environment and the applicable Test Environments specified in the relevant Product Specification”, and the Product Specification can also change the service levels.[9]
For licence management, the descriptions matter in three ways. They show what is included in the subscription price, they reveal which products are sized per FTE, and they define the extras Unit4 charges for: additional environments, storage, refreshes and report queues. The current index lists Unit4 ERPx, Feature Services, ERP CR, T&E, T&E v7, FP&A, Financials by Coda, Talent Management, Source-to-Contract and Platform Services, plus regional products.[1]

Catalog SKUs: Unit4 ERPx (SaaS), Unit4 FP&A (SaaS), Unit4 Talent Management (SaaS), Unit4 Source-to-Contract (SaaS), Unit4 T&E (SaaS) and Unit4 Financials by Coda (SaaS). Unit4 publishes no part numbers or prices for them.
Three environments as standard since May 2020. The FP&A and Talent Management descriptions state that three environments became the standard for agreements signed from May 2020. By default the customer receives one Production and one Non-Production Environment, and must request the second Non-Production Environment through a Service Request.[3][4] Customers on older agreements may therefore be entitled to fewer environments.
Feature Services and Platform Services. Unit4 Platform Services and Feature Services (Localisation Services and Task Focused Applications) are “delivered with Unit4 ERPx or as an option”.[2] The Feature Services description says the listed services “may be included in your Unit4 subscription or procured separately, including as part of packages”, and tells customers to check their Agreement.[10] An entitlement review should list which Feature Services appear on the Sales Order before any are switched on.
Regional and legacy products. The product overview lists regional products for Asia Pacific (HR), Poland (ERP) and the Nordics (time and expenses).[11] Unit4 Student Management has no current Cloud Service Description. The archive holds its solution-specific descriptions from 2019 and 2020.[12]
Metrics
The descriptions do not define a licence metric. They do, however, express allowances “per each purchased FTE”, which links storage to the FTE Employee quantity on the Sales Order for ERPx, Talent Management and Source-to-Contract.[2][4][5] The catalog records two infrastructure units: Environment and Transactional storage per purchased FTE. Example: an ERPx customer with 2,000 purchased FTEs has 15 GB plus 2,000 times 100 MB, about 215 GB, of transactional storage.
Counting / floors
Additional environments and storage. Additional environments “can be provided at an extra charge” for ERPx, FP&A and T&E. Additional Non-Production Environments for Financials by Coda are also chargeable.[2][3][6][7] Extra storage beyond the allowance can be requested at extra charge.[2] Catalog: SaaS includes one Production and the listed Non-Production Environments; more cost extra; ERPx and S2C storage allowance is 15 GB plus 100 MB per purchased FTE; Talent Management storage allowance is 250 GB plus 2 GB per purchased FTE.
Non-Production Environments. For ERPx, Non-Production Environments are not covered by the SLA or disaster recovery and “are configured to handle maximum of 15 concurrent Users”. One refresh from Production per Non-Production Environment per month is included; further refreshes are charged per refresh.[2] FP&A also includes one refresh per environment per month.[3] Financials by Coda allows up to 12 database refreshes per environment per calendar year, pooled across environments.[7] Catalog: ERPx Non-Production Environments: 15 concurrent Users and one refresh per month; Financials by Coda: up to 12 database refreshes per environment per year.
Report queues. For Unit4 ERP CR and ERP7, up to four report queues are included at no extra cost. Customers may qualify for one additional free queue “for every 1,000 FTE Employees or 300 named users (as applicable)”, up to four extra queues. Further queues are chargeable.[8] The reference to named users shows that some ERP subscriptions are still sized by users rather than FTEs. Catalog: One extra report queue per 1,000 FTE Employees or 300 named users, up to four.
ERP clients. The recommended limit for Unit4 ERP and ERPx is 50 clients. Above 50, Unit4 recommends engaging its Professional Services. “If more than 100 clients are configured, the Unit4 Performance Package is required”.[8] Groups that add companies through acquisitions should track the client count alongside the FTE count. Catalog: More than 100 ERP clients requires the Unit4 Performance Package.
Virtualization & partitioning
Not applicable. The customer’s environments are tenants in Unit4’s multi-tenant service. For ERPx, Acceptance and Preview share one multi-tenant instance and Production runs on a separate instance where the production SLA applies.[2]
Cloud / BYOL
Hosting region. Unless the Sales Order says otherwise, the deployment follows the customer’s residence. For example, UK customers are hosted in the UK zone, EU customers in the EU zone, and Swedish, Norwegian and Danish customers in Norway.[2]
API and fair use limits. For Unit4 SaaS other than ERPx, the Web API allows 500 HTTP requests per minute per environment for Production, Preview and the first two Acceptance environments, 1,500 per minute shared across further Acceptance environments, and 350 MB per minute. Above the limit, requests are suspended for one minute with HTTP status 429.[8] These technical limits sit alongside the contractual fair usage clause, under which excessive resource use can lead to suspension or extra charges.[9] Catalog: SaaS Web API limited to 500 requests per minute per environment; Excessive resource use can lead to suspension or extra charges.
Integration between environments. Integrations must connect environments of the same type. Production may integrate only with production, and integrating non-production with production is not recommended.[8]
Programs
No program-level overlays are defined in the Cloud Service Descriptions. Success Services and support are covered in Unit4 on-premises software, support and Success Services.
