Qlik licensing covers three models. Qlik Cloud capacity-based subscriptions (Qlik Cloud Analytics Starter, Standard, Premium and Enterprise, and Qlik Talend Cloud) are measured mainly by data volume. Qlik Cloud user-based subscriptions (Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS and Qlik Sense Business) are priced by the number of users. Qlik Sense Enterprise Client-Managed is licensed by Professional and Analyzer Users, metered Analyzer Capacity, CPU cores, or legacy Tokens.[1][3] The Qlik Customer Agreement governs all of them. It incorporates the Product Descriptions as Documentation.[4][11]

Counting / floors
Qlik Cloud capacity-based
Data for Analysis (Product Descriptions 061726). It “is measured daily”. It rises when data is added and falls when data is deleted. Data is counted when it enters Qlik Cloud, so data loaded into several tenants “is counted each time it is loaded into a different tenant”. Data loaded once and analyzed many times counts once, and a reload counts only the additional data.[1] Help (last updated 2026-09-25): “Your monthly peak usage is compared against your purchased capacity.”[5] Catalog row: Data for Analysis: measured daily, counted per tenant at entry.
Data Pack minimums (061726). Starter includes a fixed 10 GB that “may not be increased”. Standard buys 25 GB Data Packs. Premium buys 25 GB or 250 GB packs with a 50 GB minimum. Enterprise buys 250 GB packs with a 250 GB minimum and a minimum purchase requirement. Starter “requires a purchase of a minimum 10 users”. Standard, Premium and Enterprise allow up to 100,000 users in total.[1] Catalog row: Data Pack sizes and minimum purchases by edition.
Overage (061726). “Overage is only supported on capacity-based tenants, and not on user-based subscriptions.” Use may continue until consumption reaches ten times the included and purchased capacity. Overage is billed monthly in arrears, and Qlik waives it for the first 6 months of an initial subscription period. Overage is not enabled for Qlik Cloud Analytics Starter, Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS, or the base analytics capacity in Qlik Talend Cloud. Users, Pages Indexed, Anonymous Access and Qlik Predict deployed models are not overage-enabled.[1][6] Catalog row: Capacity overage up to 10x, billed monthly in arrears.
Multi-tenant (061726). Capacity and other entitlements may be spread across tenants “only up to the total contracted entitlement”. Usage above that “is subject to additional fees”. User-based and client-managed
Professional before Analyzer (v.2025.04.25). “At least one Professional User is required to purchase an Analyzer User.” Analyzer Capacity also requires at least one Professional User. QSE SaaS follows the same rule.[3][1] In user-based Qlik Cloud tenants, users “are assigned Analyzer or Professional user entitlement”.[8] Catalog row: At least one Professional User required for Analyzer Users or Analyzer Capacity.
Analyzer Capacity minutes (v.2025.04.25). Minutes reset monthly and unused minutes are forfeited. Consumption is “based on active use and in minimum increments of 6 minutes”. Users are denied access when capacity runs out, unless the customer has enabled and consented to overage. Overage is invoiced “at 125% of list price” the following month.[3] Help: minutes “are shared among users and can be consumed by anyone in the user group, including anonymous users”.[9] Catalog row: Analyzer Capacity: 1,000-minute packs, 6-minute increments, monthly reset.
Identified users. “An IP address is not a valid form of user identification.”[3] Each Professional or Analyzer user may hold up to five parallel connections. With a signed license key, QMC access counts toward the five.[10] Catalog row: Named users must be uniquely identified and authenticated (no IP identification).
External use. Client-managed “Professional Users are not available for external use by third parties”. Analyzer Users may be used by external third parties that the customer authorizes.[3] Catalog row: External third-party use: Analyzer yes, Professional no (client-managed).
Legacy Tokens. One token equals one User Access Pass, or ten Login Access Passes of up to 60 continuous minutes per 28-day period. Qlik Sense Business. User assignments may not be transferred except on termination of employment, or when the user no longer needs access.[1] Catalog row: Qlik Sense Business: user reassignment only on termination or no further need.
Contract level (Qlik Customer Agreement 053124)
- True-up. Section 3.9: “If Customer’s use exceeds purchased quantity limits, Customer will be invoiced and shall pay for such additional quantities monthly in arrears”.[4] See true-up. Catalog row: Customer Agreement 3.9: use above purchased quantities invoiced monthly in arrears.

- Term. Section 9.1: subscriptions renew automatically for terms equal to the initial period, unless notice is given at least 45 days before the end. Virtualization & partitioning
Core-based Qlik Sense Enterprise sites and the Qlik Analytics Platform count Cores on the central node and on every node that reloads data or serves users. Virtual cores and vCPUs count, and the total across all nodes may not exceed the licensed number.[3] The Qlik Analytics Platform has a 4-Core minimum configuration.[3] Each Client-Managed Site (one license key) needs its own license. Cloud / BYOL
Client-managed Qlik Sense may run “on premises or in a customer-managed cloud”.[3] Customers on Qlik Cloud Analytics Standard, Premium or Enterprise can add the QSE Client-Managed Add On. It provides Professional and Analyzer Users “in equivalent quantities as, and for use by, the Users in the Qlik Cloud Analytics tenant”, within the same Data for Analysis limits.
