Odoo Standard and Custom plans and Light Users

This article is about the plans Odoo sells for Odoo Enterprise (One App Free, Standard and Custom), how users and Light Users are priced, what the plans include and exclude, and how billing terms apply. It is not about the code licences or the contract clauses, which have their own articles, and it is not legal advice.

On This Page

Odoo sells Odoo Enterprise through subscription plans priced per user per month. The pricing page presents three: One App Free, Standard and Custom.[1] The Subscription Agreement defines a Subscription Plan as a set of Apps, features and hosting solutions covered by the Agreement, defined in writing at conclusion, and charges depend on the number of Users, Light Users and the plan used.[2] Catalog proof: Odoo Standard plan; Odoo Custom plan; Subscription Plan.

Editions

One App Free

The One App Free plan is one app with unlimited users on Odoo Online. If the chosen app depends on other apps (for example eCommerce depends on Website and Invoicing) the required apps come free too. The page says the free plan allows multiple companies and that Odoo Studio can be chosen as the app.[1] Catalog proof: One App Free plan allows one app and unlimited users; Odoo One App Free.

Standard plan

The Standard plan includes all apps for a single per-user fee and is hosted on Odoo Online, which the page describes as Odoo’s cloud infrastructure for databases without custom modules.[1] The prices displayed on the retrieval date were 14.90 EUR per user per month for annual billing and 18.60 EUR for monthly billing, with discounted prices of 11.90 EUR and 14.80 EUR shown for the first 12 months for the initial users ordered.[1] Catalog proof: Standard and Custom plans include all apps for a single fee; Standard plan is hosted on Odoo Online only.

Custom plan

The Custom plan includes all apps, may be hosted on Odoo Online, on Odoo.sh or by the customer, and lists Odoo Studio / Agentic AI, Multi-Company and External API. The displayed prices were 27.90 EUR per user per month for annual billing and 33.90 EUR for monthly billing, with 22.90 EUR and 27.90 EUR displayed for the first 12 months for initial users.[1] The page notes that the cost of Odoo.sh hosting is not included.[1] With the Custom plan the customer can host on Odoo Online at no extra cost, download Odoo Enterprise to host it themselves, or use Odoo.sh, the continuous-integration platform for development, staging and production branches that allows custom modules.[1] Catalog proof: Custom plan includes Studio, Multi-Company and External API; Odoo.sh hosting cost is not included in plan prices; Odoo.sh hosting.

Metrics

Users

The Subscription Agreement counts each active user account that is not a Light User, so the plan fee is multiplied by the number of Users. Deactivated accounts and portal accounts are not counted.[2] Catalog proof: User.

Light Users

A Light User is an account designated Light User in the Software or an active employee record in the Human Resources app not linked to an active non-portal user account. The pricing page lists Light User capabilities: as users, My Time Off, My Expenses, My Appraisals, My Attendances, My Referrals, My Planning, Field Services, Inventory Barcode Operator and read-only access to Knowledge; as employees, getting payslips, using the Point of Sale and using the Manufacturing Shop floor. It shows Light User at 4.90 EUR and says that to obtain a Light User licence the customer schedules a meeting with an Odoo Advisor, who provides a customised quote.[1][2] Catalog proof: Light User; Light User is priced at a displayed 4.90 EUR; Odoo Light User.

Apps

An App is a specialised group of features available for installation; the Standard and Custom plans include all apps for a single fee, so counting apps matters only for the One App Free plan.[2][1] Catalog proof: App.

Counting and floors

The numbers of Users and Light Users are fixed in writing at conclusion. If the customer adds users or needs features of another plan, for example moving from Standard to Custom to host custom modules, it pays the list price at the time of the deviation for the rest of the Term.[2] Odoo Online lets the customer switch pricing plans from its database manager.[3] The first-year discount footnote refers to the initial users ordered, while the Agreement states the extra fee for added Users as the applicable list price at the time of the deviation.[1][2] Catalog proof: First-year discount applies to initial users; First-year discount on initial users.

Virtualization and partitioning

The plans are counted by user, not by server or core, and the pricing page sets no limit on features or data: Odoo Online hosting is free with unmetered storage up to 100 GB according to the footnote.[1] For on-premise installations only one database can be linked per subscription, so each production database needs its own subscription.[4]

Cloud and BYOL

Hosting differs by plan as set out above. A customer that has an Enterprise subscription on one hosting solution can move databases between solutions, subject to constraints such as the removal of non-standard apps before moving to Odoo Online, and a subscription linked to a migrated database must be transferred through the Customer Service Manager or Odoo support.[5] Monthly subscriptions are available only for hosting on the Cloud Platform (Odoo SaaS and Odoo.sh) and can be paid only by credit card or an equivalent automatic debit.[6] Catalog proof: Monthly subscriptions are available only for Cloud Platform hosting.

What is and is not included

All plans include unlimited support, hosting and maintenance, according to the pricing page: scalable cloud infrastructure, daily incremental backups on two continents, email integration, 24/7 monitoring and a control centre, support by email Monday to Friday (24/5) in English, French, Spanish or Dutch, and upgrades at no extra fee.[1] The page lists as not included hosting on Odoo.sh for custom developments, implementation services and access to Odoo expert services, In-App-Purchase credits (SMS, contacts auto-complete, lead generation, AI scanning of vendor bills and expenses) and maintenance of custom code.[1] Maintenance of custom code is charged under the Agreement per 100 lines of code a month.[2] Catalog proof: Plans exclude implementation, In-App Purchase credits and custom code maintenance; Covered Extra Module maintenance; Odoo In-App Purchase credits.

Programs

Besides the first-year discount and the Light User quote, the Terms of Sale state that for clients with a global presence the applicable pricing is based on the client location with the highest price list, unless otherwise specified in writing at the time of purchase.[6] Extended support for older versions is an extra-fee option.[7] Catalog proof: Global clients are priced at the highest price list location; Odoo extended support.

Audit considerations

Plan and user counts are checked by code in the Software rather than a scheduled audit, so a plan mismatch such as custom code on a Standard plan, or more Users than were purchased, results in the list-price fee under the Agreement; interfering with the verification code carries a fee of 300 per cent of the applicable list price.[2] Light User and employee-record counts are the item most often worth checking against the written subscription.[2]

Out of scope

This article does not cover regional price lists, partner resale pricing, implementation Success Packs, or the Odoo.sh hosting price, which is not stated on the pages reviewed.[1]
