- The WinGUp updater is a separate program licensed under the GNU LGPL version 3. The installer option /noUpdater, or MSI variable NOUPDATER=1 (MSI available from v8.8.8), omits it. After the 2025 compromise of the update infrastructure the project advised enterprise IT that the MSI can be deployed without the auto-updater. Without WinGUp, updates must be delivered by the organization's own software distribution.
