Statement: GPL FAQ: the GPL does not require a modified version to be released; an organization may make a modified version and use it internally without releasing it. If it releases the modified version to the public, it must make the modified source available under the GPL.
Applies when: An organization modifies Notepad++ and uses the build internally only.
