- MPL 2.0 FAQ Q5 and Q6 (last updated 2024-01-30): software under the MPL may be used by anyone, including companies, for any purpose, and the MPL only creates obligations when software is distributed outside the organization. Distribution and modification inside a company count as private. Internal deployments therefore carry no licence fee, count or notice obligation under the MPL.
