- Binary Components policy (undated; as published on 2026-09-27): installers for non-free platforms may include operating-system vendor code governed by licences other than the MPL; such code is disclosed in about:license. On Windows, about:license lists the Microsoft Distributable Code terms for the C/C++ runtime libraries (msvc*.dll, vcruntime*.dll), which may be used and distributed only as part of the product. Firefox may also download third-party content decryption modules that may not be open source (Firefox Terms of Use, effective 2026-09-16).
