- The about:license page generated from toolkit/content/license.html.mako (Mozilla Firefox repository, as published on 2026-09-27) states that most Firefox source code is under MPL 2.0 and the remainder under a variety of other free and open source licences, reproducing those whose licence text must accompany distributions. The Mozilla Source Code License Policy (version 4.1) lists licences compatible with MPL 2.0 in the same binary: CC0, public domain dedications, MIT, New BSD and similar, Apache 2.0, and GPL/MPL dual licences.
