- GPL-3.0 §8: rights terminate on violation, but are reinstated provisionally when the violation stops, and permanently if the copyright holder does not notify within 60 days after cessation; a first-time violation cured within 30 days of notice is reinstated permanently. GPL-2.0 §4: any attempt to copy, modify, sublicense or distribute other than as permitted is void and automatically terminates rights, with no cure provision.
