- glibc files carry the LGPL "version 2.1 of the License, or (at your option) any later version" notice. The LICENSES file collects permission notices for code with other copyright owners (4.4 BSD, BIND resolver and others) and states that these notices require a copy in the accompanying documentation and in binary distributions, so the file must be included with binary distributions derived from the GNU C Library.
