- GPL-3.0 §4: a distributor may charge any price or no price for each copy and may offer support or warranty for a fee. §10: no further restrictions may be imposed, for example no license fee, royalty or other charge for exercise of rights granted under the License. GPL FAQ: using GPL software on a device that stops working unless a subscription is paid is prohibited. The GNU Project encourages redistributors to charge as much as they wish or can.
