- The Git README states that some parts of Git are under licences other than GPL-2.0 that are compatible with it. Examples in the source tree are the SHA-1 collision detection code (sha1dc/, MIT License), the reftable library (reftable/, BSD licence) and LibXDiff (xdiff/, LGPL version 2.1 or later).
