- libgit2 COPYING: in addition to GPL version 2 (only), the authors give unlimited permission to link the compiled library into combinations with other programs and to distribute those combinations without restriction arising from the library. The libgit2 README says this lets the library be used from any program, proprietary or open source, paid or gratis. The wording follows the SPDX GCC Runtime Library exception 2.0, with "the authors" in place of the Free Software Foundation. (as published on 2026-09-27)
