- GNU LGPL 2.1 §3 (February 1999): the ordinary GNU GPL (version 2 or a later version) may be applied to a given copy of the Library instead of the LGPL by altering its notices; the change is irreversible for that copy and all derived copies. The 7-Zip FAQ likewise allows modified 7-Zip code to be licensed under the LGPL or GPL.
