- Definition
- Licensing page: the maintenance plan gives exclusive access to technical support and beta programs and lets the customer run the latest major and minor releases while it is active; it is subject to renewal, typically annually. The Maintenance and Support Agreement defines Supported Licenses as perpetual licences in a Renewal Support Period or current Rental or Subscription licences.
- Commercial rules
- A perpetual licence runs any version released before its maintenance date. Perpetual maintenance auto-renews for twelve months at each anniversary unless the customer opts out at least 72 hours before; after an opt-out the customer may not buy further maintenance for that licence.
