- Definition
- Unity Manual, Licensing overview: Floating licensing is a concurrency-based model for complex projects or larger organizations; the organization sets up an on-premises licensing server and buys a pool of licenses large enough for the members who use Unity concurrently.
- Counting rules
- The server removes a licence from the pool when a client starts the Editor and returns it when the last Editor instance on that client closes or the lease is not renewed. The number of concurrent Authorized Users may not exceed the total number of floating subscriptions (Terms of Service section 10).
- Floors / minimums
- Unity Licensing Server must run on a persistent computer on the local network; if computer bindings change the server licence becomes invalid.
