- Data Protection ALA (5200-1998): Front End Capacity “Means the size of the primary data that is being protected for client applications, virtual machines, and systems by Data Protector.” Capacity licences “are measured in Terabytes by front-end or source data being backed-up.”

- From Data Protector 2018.11 (10.20): Backup Sets may not collectively exceed the licensed TB; Backup Sets whose components are all older than 90 days do not count; for incremental chains active in the past 90 days the most recent full backup counts. Only full (or synthetic full) backups are counted; secondary copies made by Object Copy or ARS are not counted.
