- If, on the Llama 4 version release date, the monthly active users of the products or services made available by or for Licensee, or Licensee’s affiliates, is greater than 700 million monthly active users in the preceding calendar month, you must request a license from Meta, which Meta may grant to you in its sole discretion, and you are not authorized to exercise any of the rights under this Agreement unless or until Meta otherwise expressly grants you such rights. (Llama 4 Community License Agreement, Section 2.)
- Counting rules
- Measured across the products or services made available by or for the Licensee or the Licensee’s affiliates, in the calendar month preceding the version release date of the Llama version concerned (each license names its own release date). The licenses do not define “monthly active user” further and publish no counting method. Section 2 does not apply to a party that receives Llama Materials from a Licensee as part of an integrated end user product (Section 1.b.ii).
- Floors / minimums
- Threshold, not a price meter: greater than 700 million monthly active users in the preceding calendar month requires a separate license from Meta. Same figure in the Llama 2, Meta Llama 3, Llama 3.1, 3.2, 3.3 and Llama 4 licenses. The licenses are royalty-free below the threshold; no fee is published.
