- Licensing Guide: floating licences are not attached to a specific card or device and can be moved or reassigned across cards within a device or across devices; GigaSMART application licences can be moved only within the same device type. Floating is supported only for GigaVUE-FM and GigaVUE-OS HC Series, not the TA Series.

- A licence file with pooled floating licences is generated in the licensing portal from the Fabric Inventory file and imported into GigaVUE-FM, which assigns quantities to devices. GigaVUE-FM must be installed; automatic renewal is supported. Chassis and module licences cannot be transferred.
