- Definition
- Cloud Firewall Central License Tool Administration Guide: the tool "organizes Cloud Firewall licenses into a shared pool and automatically distributes them between subscribed Cloud Firewall Gateway"; the pool is measured in cores ("Pool Cores", "Gateway Given Cores"). The 2017 CloudGuard IaaS Elastic Licensing note describes BYOL as "based on the number of vCores used across all CloudGuard IaaS Gateways".
- Counting rules
- Each subscribed gateway draws as many cores from the pool as it uses; a change in a gateway's vCore count is reflected one day later (or at the next policy installation or manual distribution). A gateway must have a policy installed to receive a licence. Full HA cluster members need separate non-central licences per member IP. The tool can generate an hourly core usage CSV report once collection is enabled.
- Floors / minimums
- Historic bundle SKUs were sold per 1 vCore (CloudGuard IaaS Elastic Licensing, 2017). No current minimum published.
