LICENSEWARE

Sitecore Content Hub, CDP, Personalize, OrderCloud and other SaaS licensing

This article is about the licensing metrics of Sitecore SaaS products other than SitecoreAI and XM Cloud: Content Hub, CDP, Personalize, OrderCloud, Send, Discover, Experience Edge, Search, Content Hub ONE, Connect, Stream, Vercel and Dataweavers. It does not cover installed Software or the contract terms.

Beyond SitecoreAI and XM Cloud, Sitecore sells a set of composable SaaS products. Their licensing units are defined in Order Definitions v2.6, dated 1 July 2026, under “Other SaaS Products”, and each carries product-specific metrics.[1] All SaaS Products are licensed under Addendum A for the Subscription Term and Permitted Usage and are subject to the Usage Policy, and exceeding the Entitlement can trigger the automatic tier upgrade described in the contract article.[2][3]

Sitecore Content Hub

Content Hub is metered by several units.[1]

  • Asset Bandwidth is the total data transmitted and metered on the Content Hub CDN, which delivers web content such as HTML pages, JavaScript, stylesheets and images.
  • Asset Storage is the physical storage on disk of file-based assets such as images, videos and documents.
  • Entities are units of data representing content, assets or products, made of text-based attributes and optionally associated media files held in Asset Storage.
  • Power Users are registered users who can manage and modify assets, content, products, campaigns and metadata (create, update, delete, lock, submit, publish, archive) and related operations items, and Consumers are registered users who can view, download, share and approve within workflows.
  • Integration Speed is the rate of requests per minute at which third-party integrations can connect through the API.
  • Video Indexing (AI Tool) is measured in blocks of video hours indexed.

Content Hub has two non-production environment types: a Development Non-Production Environment, a replica of production for development with some limits on auditing storage, entities and API requests per minute, and a Full Non-Production Environment for staging, QA and performance testing; usage of these counts toward overall entitlements.[1] The SaaS SLA states that Content Hub subscription tiers include non-production environments and that maintenance with breaking changes reaches them at least 14 calendar days before production.[4] See Asset Bandwidth and Power User.

Sitecore CDP and Personalize

Sitecore CDP uses Monthly Tracked Users (MTU), the total number of CDP profiles created or updated, by real-time or batch ingestion, within a calendar month, and CDP Events: data sent to the stream API, requests against the REST API, single records in a batch API file, and single records exported through audience export.[1] See Monthly Tracked Users and CDP Events.

Sitecore Personalize uses Personalize Events, which are data sent as an API request to the stream API, executions of an inbound personalization API request (interactive) and executions of an outbound personalization API call (triggered).[1] Personalize also defines a Visit as an instance where an application presents content or functionality originating from the product to a single person within a Time Frame of up to 1800 minutes, ending earlier after 30 minutes of inactivity or application closure.[1] A Non-Production Environment supports but does not perform production activities.[1] See Personalize Events.

Sitecore OrderCloud

OrderCloud has two units. Order Line Volume is the total distinct number of line items processed across all customer orders, and Revenue Volume is the total US dollar amount of those line items excluding calculated taxes and shipping; for tiering and sizing, local-currency orders are converted to USD at the Google exchange rate on the order date.[1] See Order Line Volume and Revenue Volume.

Sitecore Send and Discover

Sitecore Send is measured in Subscribers, the number of unique active subscribers excluding bounced, unsubscribed and archived ones.[1] Send has its own SLA listed on the Legal Hub.[5] Sitecore Discover uses SKU count, the total number of stock-keeping units in the customer’s inventory, and a Visit as defined with the Time Frame; the Permitted Sites definition limits sources to websites the customer is authorized by the owner to use, excluding content obtained by crawling or indexing without authorization.[1]

Search uses several metrics.[1] Requests are APIs initiated by a customer application to the search and recommendation API, the ingestion API or through the Search SDK, aggregated over production and non-production and excluding event API calls used to personalize results. Documents/Product SKU are distinct content records indexed, aggregated over production and non-production. Document Updates are the incremental updates or crawler updates of indexed content, also aggregated. A customer can have one production environment per licence, which can consist of any number of sites within entitlements, and non-production environments are for testing, development and staging without production service levels. A Bursting Allowance covers surges of requests, with sustained bursts potentially affecting service levels. See Requests and Documents/Product SKU.

Sitecore Content Hub ONE and Experience Edge

Content Hub ONE is measured by an Annual Bandwidth Limit (data metered on the Content Hub CDN), Asset Storage, Content Requests into its APIs or a customer-provided caching system, Production Environments and Total Users, meaning users with access to the subscription.[1] Sitecore Experience Edge, including its Content Hub variant, uses API Calls (any HTTP request to the main application API excluding Satellites), Bandwidth (data transfer from the Experience Edge CDN, including GraphQL queries and media files, even if cached) and File Storage for published entities.[1] The SaaS SLA defines Experience Edge downtime by the status endpoint for the customer’s region.[4] See Bandwidth and API Call.

Sitecore Connect and Stream

Sitecore Connect is an integration product. A Connection is a unique authentication into an instance of an application or database external to Sitecore, and Sitecore products are not counted toward licensed connection counts.[1] A Task is a unit of work each time a Recipe performs an action, such as an API call to fetch data; search, create, update, get and upsert actions count, while control functions such as If, Error Monitor and Stop do not.[1] Fair usage allows 3 million Tasks per active Connection per year.[1] See Task and Sitecore Connect fair usage.

Sitecore Stream counts an Interaction as a single request sent to its Gen AI functionality from user interaction with Brand-Aware AI or the Generative Co-Pilot capabilities.[1] Gen AI functionality is also subject to the Gen AI Addendum, and a customer with an older agreement needs a Gen AI Activation Form.[5] See Interaction.

Vercel and Dataweavers

Order Definitions also list Vercel, with metrics for Vercel Bandwidth, Concurrent Builds, Monthly Infrastructure Units, Remote Caching, Serverless Execution and Team or Developer Seats, and Dataweavers, a managed platform called Arc with support-tier items such as Active Developers, environments, sites, regions and availability targets.[1] The Monthly Infrastructure Units definition says that charges are based on a periodic commitment, with on-demand charges if the commitment is exceeded.[1]

Counting guidance

  • For each product, identify which of its units the Order actually prices; most definitions list more units than a given Order uses.[1]
  • Aggregate Search Requests and documents across production and non-production.[1]
  • Count Content Hub non-production use toward entitlements.[1]
  • Track Connect Tasks per active Connection against the fair usage figure.[1]
