Hugging Face Hub plans, seats and storage

This article is about the subscription plans of the Hugging Face Hub (Free, PRO, Team, Enterprise, Enterprise Plus and Academia Hub), how seats, storage and request quotas are counted, and how renewal works. It is not about compute billing for Spaces, Jobs or Inference Endpoints, which has its own article.

On This Page

Hugging Face Hub plans are the subscription tiers through which Hugging Face, Inc. sells the Hub. A personal account can subscribe to PRO. An organization, which groups accounts and manages models, datasets and Spaces together with user roles and billing, can subscribe to Team, Enterprise or Enterprise Plus.[10] Universities have a separate Academia Hub subscription.[7] Subscriptions are flat fees. Compute is billed separately on usage, as covered in Hugging Face compute billing.

Editions

Free. A free user or organization has best-effort public storage, 100GB of private storage, no extra-storage purchase option and no included compute credits.[2][4] Static Spaces are free for everyone, while creating a Gradio or Docker Space that runs on compute needs a paid plan, with a free exception for up to 2 ZeroGPU Spaces on accounts in good standing.[11]

PRO. 45587e12f6535bfea7eda64da2d04eda is $9 per month for a personal account.[1] The pricing page lists 10 times the private storage capacity, 2 times the public storage capacity, $2 of included inference credits monthly, 8 times the ZeroGPU quota with the highest queue priority, Dev Mode, personal blog publishing and the Dataset Viewer for private datasets.[1] The documentation adds higher bandwidth and API rate limits and the ability to create Gradio and Docker Spaces running on compute and host up to 10 ZeroGPU Spaces.[6] PRO can only be paid by credit card, renews automatically and can be cancelled in billing settings.[3]

Team. 66cf827f7aa5556d9dbb6e2657772444 is $20 per month per user on the pricing page and is bought with a credit card.[1] It adds SSO, audit logs, resource groups, token management, storage regions and gating group collections (see enterprise security and access controls), and gives every member the ZeroGPU and Inference Providers PRO benefits.[1]

Enterprise. 23efa9dd93095c919c28db4f73d882e2 is $50 per month per user on the pricing page, with the comparison table showing “from 50$/user/Mo”.[1][2] It adds SCIM provisioning, managed billing with annual commitments, higher storage, bandwidth and API limits, dedicated support and legal and compliance processes.[1] Billing is by invoice on a Hugging Face contract template, and support is email with an SLA.[2] The documentation notes that PRO benefits are also included in the Enterprise subscription.[3]

Enterprise Plus. 6746a7179ad85a5baa4d5d92a4520916 appears in the documentation comparison and not on the pricing page. Pricing is “custom”, pilots are available, contracts can be on customer paper, and legal review and vendor onboarding with security questionnaires are included.[2]

Academia Hub. 5f83da6d7d405113b4f417cf763b9171 starts at $10 per seat per month with volume discounts, and each seat includes 1 TB of private and 1 TB of public storage and $2 per month of compute credits.[7]

Metrics

The Seat is the billable quantity for Team and Enterprise. The billing documentation states that on renewal “the number of seats in your subscription will be updated to match the number of members of your organization”, and that a mid-term seat update is unnecessary because the subscription is a flat fee.[3] The PRO account is a single personal account. The Academia Hub seat is a university seat priced separately.[7]

Storage has two metrics. Private storage (TB) is billed above the included amount in 1TB increments at a base of $18 per TB per month, with discounts of $16, $14 and $12 at 50TB, 200TB and 500TB volumes.[4] Public storage add-on (TB) is an add-on for paid plans at $12 per TB per month, with a 50 TB tier at $500 per month.[4] The pricing page lists a separate volume table: $12 per TB base for public repositories and $18 for private, falling to $8 and $12 at 500TB and above.[1]

Counting / floors

Storage included

Account type Public storage Private storage
Free user or org Best-effort 100GB
PRO Up to 10TB included; add-on available 1TB plus pay-as-you-go
Team 12TB base plus 1TB per seat; add-on available 1TB per seat plus pay-as-you-go
Enterprise 200TB base plus 1TB per seat; up to 1,000TB for large contracts 1TB per seat plus pay-as-you-go
Enterprise Plus 500TB base plus 1TB per seat[2] 1TB per seat plus pay-as-you-go[2]

The first four rows come from the storage limits documentation.[4] Team and Enterprise organizations include 1TB of private storage per seat in the subscription, so an organization with 40 members has 40TB of included private storage.[4] Private storage above the included amount is billed along with the subscription renewal.[3] Public storage for free accounts is “best-effort” and the documentation asks users to upload content that offers value to other users.[4]

Repository limits

No per-repository size limit exists for models and datasets, and uploads count against the account quota. A single file cannot exceed 500GB, and the recommendation is under 200GB per file, fewer than 100,000 files per repository and fewer than 10,000 entries per folder.[4]

Request quotas

Hugging Face enforces fixed 5-minute windows for Hub API, resolver and page requests. The tier table, stated for September 2025, gives anonymous users 500, 3,000 and 100 requests, free users 1,000, 5,000 and 200, PRO users 2,500, 12,000 and 400, Team organizations 3,000, 20,000 and 400, Enterprise organizations 6,000, 50,000 and 600, and Enterprise Plus organizations 10,000, 100,000 and 1,000 for API, resolver and page requests respectively.[5] For organizations the limits apply individually to each member, not shared across members.[5] The Request quota per 5-minute window therefore matters for automation: a download job run from one account is capped by that account’s tier.

Credits per seat

PRO users receive $2.00 of monthly credits and Team or Enterprise organizations $2.00 per seat. The credits can be spent on all Hugging Face compute services, are credited each month and are applied automatically before pay-as-you-go usage.[8] Enterprise Plus is listed with 5 percent of annual contract value in additional included credits, while Team and Enterprise can buy credits in bulk.[2]

Service accounts

Service accounts, which are organization-owned identities for automation on Enterprise plans, “are not counted as billable members of your organization”, so they do not consume a seat.[9]

Renewal and billing

All subscriptions renew on the 1st of each month, and the first month of a Team or PRO plan is prorated when signing up mid-month.[3] Team and Enterprise renew automatically and can be cancelled in the organization’s billing settings.[3] A Team subscription can be paid by credit card or through an AWS or Google Cloud account, and Enterprise is upgraded via an annual contract.[3] Invoice details, such as a tax ID or purchase order number, can be added in payment settings.[3] Credit cards issued in India are not yet supported, and the alternatives are a cloud marketplace account or a card from another country.[3]

The Terms of Service add that Hugging Face may adjust pricing at its sole discretion, but prices stay fixed during the initial subscription term and changed fees apply only after the term of the new subscription.[12]

Virtualization & partitioning

Not applicable. The plans are hosted subscriptions with no processor, core or virtualization rules.

Cloud / BYOL

Team and Enterprise organizations can pay through AWS Marketplace or Google Cloud Marketplace. The marketplace subscription must be approved by the Hugging Face team before paid usage is billed through it, it is available to organizations only, and it replaces the credit card as payment method.[3] Bring-your-own-licence concepts do not apply to the subscriptions.

Programs

Academia Hub program requires at least 250 annual seats, and smaller groups are advised to start with Team.[7] Storage grants for research teams and non-profits are evaluated case by case for high-impact open-source work, and the documentation recommends Team, Enterprise or Academia Hub to research institutions that need guaranteed limits.[4] Enterprise Plus pilot is listed for Enterprise Plus only, with no published duration or price.[2]

Out of scope

This article does not cover compute billing, repository and model licences, the Terms of Service, or the technical operation of SSO, SCIM, resource groups and network security, which are in separate articles. Reconciling seat counts against identity-provider groups and deciding whether to buy PRO accounts individually or a Team plan are practitioner decisions and are not described in Hugging Face’s documents.
