CyberLink volume licensing is the programme through which organisations buy CyberLink desktop software in quantity. CyberLink 365 subscriptions are the recurring plans for PowerDirector 365, PhotoDirector 365, Director Suite 365 and related products. The programme page offers “Volume purchase discounts”, “No contract or ongoing purchase commitments required” and “Electronic software download”.[1] The licences are still governed by the product EULA. Its volume licence type allows “one copy per device”, up to “a capped number according to the purchased quantity in bulk”.[8]

CyberLink’s Japanese site lists volume-only editions. It describes PowerDirector volume products as special products developed for corporate use (“法人使用向けに開発した特別な製品”). It also offers Director Suite 365 and PowerDirector 365 in 1-year and 5-year versions (1年版・5年版), alongside the PowerDirector 2026 Ultimate Suite, Ultimate and Ultra perpetual editions.[2] Under “special specifications (volume licence only)” (特別仕様(ボリュームライセンスのみ)), the comparison lists three features:[2]
- hidden upgrade notifications and advertising (アップグレード通知および広告の非表示);
- use without an internet connection, by enquiry (インターネット非接続環境での使用);
- silent installation (サイレントインストール).
Metrics
Perpetual volume licences
The unit is a volume licence seat, meaning one installed copy per device. The EULA states: “Only one copy per device may be installed. If you are the volume license holder then you may make multiple back-up copies and install multiple seats of the SOFTWARE. The total number of licensed copies will be limited to a capped number according to the purchased quantity in bulk.”[8] The volume holder may make unlimited backup copies, while other licensees are limited to one.[8]
PowerDirector 365 volume keys
The unit is a product key per user per year. The volume page describes the delivery and activation model:[1]
- “Upon purchase, you will receive an email with download links and one product key per software license”.
- “The software license is linked to a CyberLink Member Zone account. You can share the product keys with appropriate users. Each user must create a new account using their email or sign in to their existing Member Zone account to activate the software”.
- “Each product key unlocks one year of subscription. A new product key is required for each additional year”.
Each activated key is therefore tied to one user’s Member Zone account. Reassigning a licence to a new employee depends on what CyberLink allows for that account, and the page does not say whether a key can be moved.[1]
Counting / floors
- Minimum orders. PowerDVD, PowerDirector, PhotoDirector and Power2Go volume licences have a “Minimum order quantity of 10 units”. PowerDirector for Chromebooks requires a “Minimum order of 10 units”. PowerDirector 365 tiers start at 5 subscriptions.[1]
- No true-up mechanism. The page states that no contract or ongoing purchase commitment is required.[1] Additional units are bought as new orders. The EULA caps installed copies at the purchased quantity.[8]
- Annual keys. With PowerDirector 365 volume keys, the licence position must be renewed user by user every year, because each key covers one year.[1] Users whose keys expire lose the subscription features.
- Platform. “PhotoDirector volume licensing is only available for Windows.” PowerDirector 365 is sold separately for Windows and for Mac.[1]
365 subscriptions
The Subscription Agreement governs retail 365 plans. The plan type “is based on your selection of a monthly, quarterly or yearly plan”, and CyberLink may include free credits depending on the product and plan.[3] A subscription begins once sign-up is complete and the fee has been paid in full by credit card.[3]
Renewal. “Your contract will renew automatically based on your selected subscription term without notice, until you cancel.” If the price changes at the end of the term, CyberLink will inform the subscriber before the renewal.[3] Subscriptions renew “for the same period of time (monthly or yearly plan) prior to the expiration date”. Auto-pay can be turned off at any time in Member Zone, under Plans & Products, Manage Plan, Cancel Subscription.[4] Member Zone shows the status and next billing price.[6] Expiry reminders are sent only when auto-renewal is off: 2 days before expiry for monthly plans, and 30 and 2 days before for annual plans.[5]
Refunds. A full refund is available only if the subscriber cancels “within 30 days of starting your initial subscription” and has “not used any of the free credits”.[3]
After cancellation. For PowerDirector 365, premium features stay active until the end of the billing cycle. Then “your account will automatically downgrade to the free Essential version, and your videos and projects will not be lost”.[7] Files in CyberLink Cloud storage are deleted 90 days after the subscription ends or expires.[3]
Connectivity and versions. Under the EULA, continued access to subscription software requires “a working internet connection”, recurring payment, and acceptance of the subscription terms. CyberLink “may change the version of the SOFTWARE provided to you at any time”.[8] Organisations with offline or locked-down desktops should check this condition before choosing 365 over a perpetual edition. In Japan they can ask about the offline volume option.[2]
Perpetual versus subscription
CyberLink presents the choice for PowerDirector as “a PowerDirector 2027 one-time purchase (lifetime license) or a PowerDirector 365 subscription”. The lifetime version “provides core editing tools”, while the subscription “unlocks all new AI features, continuous updates, and millions of royalty-free stock assets”.[7] For licence management the difference is practical:
- A perpetual volume seat is counted once per device and does not expire.[8]
- A PowerDirector 365 volume key is counted per user account and must be replaced every year.[1]
- A retail subscription renews automatically unless auto-pay is turned off.[3]
Out of scope
- Reseller and regional volume price lists, and partner programme terms.
- Educational volume purchasing, which follows the educational licence type in the EULA.
- FaceMe licensing (see CyberLink licensing).
