yWorks

yWorks GmbH makes the yFiles graph visualization SDK and the yEd family of diagram editors. yFiles is sold as a royalty-free annual term licence tiered by developer seats and covered domains, while the yEd desktop editor is available free of charge under the yEd Software License Agreement.

  1. yFiles is licensed as a subscription with no royalties; the standard offer is a Term License, with individual arrangements available on request.[1]

  2. yFiles tiers are Single Developer (1 named developer, 1 covered domain), Project License (3 floating developer seats, 2 covered domains, build server use covered) and Site License (unlimited developer seats at one development site, 4 covered domains).[2]

  3. yFiles licences include domain licence keys covering a domain and its subdomains; additional keys can be ordered to cover more domains.[3]

  4. yEd is freely available and runs on Windows, Unix/Linux and macOS.[4]

  5. The yEd licence grants a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install one copy and use it as an application; the software may not be used as part of an automated process, reverse engineered, or distributed by the licensee.[5]
