Yarn

Yarn is an open-source JavaScript package and project manager with workspace support, maintained by the Yarn Contributors. Both current Yarn (4.x) and Yarn 1 (Classic) are released under the BSD 2-Clause licence.

Licensing at a Glance

  1. The current Yarn codebase (yarnpkg/berry) is licensed under the BSD 2-Clause License (SPDX BSD-2-Clause), copyright Yarn Contributors.[1]

  2. Yarn 1 (Classic), currently v1.22.22, is distributed under the BSD licence.[2]

  3. The main Yarn documentation covers Yarn 4+, with separate documentation for 3.6 and below and for Yarn 1 (Classic).[3]

  4. Yarn recommends installing Corepack, which lets the package manager version be configured per project.[4]
