Xibo Signage

Xibo Signage Ltd develops the Xibo digital signage platform, a content management system and player apps for screens. The CMS and the Windows and Linux players are open source under the AGPLv3, while commercial players are sold with perpetual licences and Xibo Cloud is licensed monthly or annually per display.

  1. Xibo states that the CMS core will remain open source under the AGPLv3 licence and that its Windows and Linux player apps will stay open source with no software licensing costs.[1]

  2. The Xibo Windows player is free of charge under the AGPLv3 or later licence, while the commercial players for Android, LG webOS and Samsung Tizen are sold with a perpetual licence.[2]

  3. Perpetual player licences include minor upgrades within the current version; major upgrades are available for a fee.[3]

  4. Under the EULA, a Xibo Cloud licence covers hosting of a single display slot for use with a single Xibo Player and runs on a monthly or annual term.[4]

  5. The EULA grants a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to the proprietary parts of the Xibo Solution for a single Release, and states that Xibo only sells or licenses to commercial entities, not individual consumers.[5]
