Licensing at a Glance

  • Freeware

  1. voidtools states that Everything is freeware and invites users to donate.[1]

  2. Everything is a Windows search engine that locates files and folders by filename; file content can be searched with the content: function, but content is not indexed.[2]

  3. The Everything licence file grants permission, free of charge, to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense and sell copies of the software, provided the copyright and permission notice are included (MIT-style wording), with copyright held by David Carpenter.[3]

  4. The Everything licence file also reproduces the BSD-style licence of the bundled Perl-Compatible Regular Expressions (PCRE) library from the University of Cambridge.[4]

  5. voidtools distributes Everything as a standard installer, a portable ZIP and a Lite installer, in 32-bit and 64-bit builds, alongside a 1.5 beta.[5]
