Licensing at a Glance

  • Subscription
  • Named user
  • Site or enterprise-wide

  1. Van Dale grants the customer a non-exclusive, non-transferable right of use to its online dictionaries for the term of the agreement, provided either through a personal login or through the customer's IP address.[1]

  2. Personal login access is strictly personal and credentials may not be shared; with IP-address access only the customer's employees and pupils may use the online dictionaries.[2]

  3. Unless agreed otherwise, agreements renew tacitly for the same period unless cancelled at least three months (annual subscription) or one month (monthly subscription) before the end of the term; consumers on annual plans may cancel monthly after the first year.[3]

  4. The terms prohibit sublicensing, renting or otherwise making the online dictionaries available to third parties, automated crawling or scraping, and using the content for text and data mining or other AI technologies.[4]

  5. The Van Dale web shop lists Dikke Van Dale Online as a monthly subscription (€7.50 excluding VAT) or an annual subscription (€75.00 excluding VAT), alongside annual school subscriptions.[5]
