UBCD4Win

UBCD4Win (Ultimate Boot CD for Windows) is a discontinued freeware bootable diagnostic and recovery CD built on Bart's PE. The project is free to build and share, but building it requires the user's own Windows XP or Server 2003 installation files.

Licensing at a Glance

  • Freeware

  1. The project FAQ states that UBCD4Win will always be freeware along with the utilities included in it.[1]

  2. Users may freely share copies of UBCD4Win, but selling it for a profit is not acceptable.[2]

  3. Some included tools are free for personal use only, and users must respect those individual licences.[3]

  4. The boot disc is built from files on the user's own Windows XP or Server 2003 CD; a ready-made ISO is not distributed because of copyright.[4]

  5. The official website states that it is closed and kept as an archived copy for historical use only.[5]
