tmux

tmux is a terminal multiplexer that lets several programs run in one terminal and be detached and reattached. It is open source under the permissive ISC licence.

  1. tmux may be used, copied, modified and distributed for any purpose, with or without fee, provided the copyright and permission notice appear in all copies (ISC licence).[1]

  2. tmux runs on OpenBSD, FreeBSD, NetBSD, Linux, macOS and Solaris, and depends on libevent 2.x and ncurses.[2]

  3. The project wiki lists tmux 3.7c as the current download and notes that merchandise purchases and donations support the project.[3]
