Tencent is a Chinese internet and technology company whose software includes the WeChat (Weixin) and QQ communication apps, VooV Meeting and Tencent Cloud services. Its consumer apps are used under per-service terms of service accepted when creating an account, with some features subject to payment.

Users who register with a China Mainland (+86) mobile number, or who contract with Shenzhen Tencent Computer Systems for Weixin, are governed by the Weixin software licence and service agreement rather than the WeChat Terms of Service.[1]
Certain products or services within WeChat, including additional features, may be subject to payment, and Tencent may change whether a feature or service is free of charge.[2]
A WeChat account is personal to the user, who may not gift, lend or transfer it or let any other person use it.[3]
All intellectual property rights in WeChat and the WeChat software, including updates and new versions, remain with Tencent and its licensors.[4]
