Tektronix

Tektronix makes test and measurement instruments such as oscilloscopes, along with PC and instrument software for waveform analysis. Its software is licensed as node-locked or floating licences on permanent or subscription terms, managed through the TekAMS licence portal.

  1. Node-locked licences are tied to a specific instrument or PC by a unique identifier and permanently enable the product on it; floating licences can be checked in and checked out to move between instruments or PCs.[1]

  2. A permanent licence grants indefinite rights to use the software, including future updates and bug fixes at no additional cost.[2]

  3. Subscription licences work only for the licence term and include updates and support; when a subscription expires all features stop working, and the term starts when the order is complete.[3]

  4. The Tektronix Asset Management System (TekAMS) is the online portal to check licences in and out, browse licence inventory, track usage and orders, and access trial licences.[4]

  5. TekScope PC offers a free basic licence and paid Starter, Pro and Ultimate options, sold as 1-year or 3-year subscriptions or as perpetual licences with 1 or 3 years of maintenance; the Starter base price is listed at 245,00 EUR.[5]
