Upcoming End of Support

Release dates, version history and support and end-of-life dates as published by SUSE. Dates within the next 12 months are highlighted; past dates are dimmed. Retrieved 2026-10-13.

  • SUSE Linux Enterprise lifecycle. SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 and 15 service packs have General Support followed by Long Term Service Pack Support (LTSS), for a lifecycle of up to thirteen years per major version; SUSE Linux Enterprise 16 uses minor releases with General Support and LTS phases. [2][1]
  • Long Term Service Pack Support. LTSS extends a SUSE Linux Enterprise Server service pack by up to three years beyond general support, with LTSS Extended Security, LTSS Core and LTSS Reactive variants for specific service packs. [2]
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications lifecycle. Each service pack receives 1.5 years of General Support plus three years of Extended Service Pack Overlap Support (ESPOS), without a separate LTSS purchase until the final service pack of a release. [2]
  • SUSE Rancher Prime lifecycle. Releases are supported from general availability to End of Maintenance (code-level maintenance), then to End of Life with troubleshooting and upgrade recommendations only. [1]
  • SUSE Edge lifecycle. Each SUSE Edge release has a full support period followed by a maintenance support period before end of life, for a total of 12 to 24 months. [1]
  • SUSE Security support policy. Major and minor versions are supported for a minimum of two years from release; after end of life, no further code-level maintenance is provided. [1]
  • SUSE Virtualization lifecycle. Community releases are for testing; Prime releases get maintenance to End of Maintenance and support to End of Life, as listed per version. [1]
  • SUSE Storage lifecycle. Prime releases receive maintenance to End of Maintenance and support to End of Life; Community releases are for test use only. [1]
  • SUSE Private Registry lifecycle. Each release line is maintained for six months (End of Maintenance) and supported until End of Life twelve months later. [1]
