Sublime HQ

Sublime HQ Pty Ltd, based in Sydney, makes the Sublime Text code editor and the Sublime Merge Git client. Personal licences are a one-off purchase with three years of updates, while business licences are sold as an annual per-seat subscription.

  1. Sublime Text may be downloaded and evaluated for free, but a licence must be purchased for continued use.[1]

  2. Personal licence keys are only for individuals; they are a one-off purchase that includes three years of updates, after which an upgrade is required for further updates.[2]

  3. Business licences are sold as an annual tiered subscription: $65 per seat per year for the first 10 seats, $60 for seats 11-25, $55 for seats 26-50 and $50 for further seats.[3]

  4. Under the EULA, licences are per user and valid on all supported operating systems; a key may be used on multiple computers if the key holder is the primary user, and businesses must buy at least as many licences as people using Sublime Text.[4]

  5. The EULA prohibits distributing or selling licence keys to third parties (licences will be revoked) and renting, leasing or lending the key or software.[5]
