SmarterTools

SmarterTools develops the SmarterMail on-premises mail server, the SmarterTrack help desk and the SmarterStats web log analytics product. Its on-premises products are licensed by edition and by level (mailboxes or agents) under a single EULA, with optional annually renewed Maintenance and Support and a hosted per-agent SmarterTrack service.

  1. SmarterMail is sold in Enterprise and Professional editions priced by mailbox tier (from 50 mailboxes up to unlimited); add-ons such as Cyren anti-spam, Message Sniffer, Cyren anti-virus and MAPI/EWS require an annual licence with active Maintenance and Support.[1]

  2. SmarterTrack on-premises is priced by number of agents in Enterprise and Professional editions, while Hosted SmarterTrack is offered at a per-agent, per-month rate.[2]

  3. The EULA covers all feature selections, including Professional, Enterprise and Free editions, and the licensed level such as the maximum number of users, email addresses, domains, websites or agents.[3]

  4. The licence is revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable and non-assignable; personal or internal business use covers activating a single licence on any one Active Instance (a running installation such as a PC, server, VPS or cloud instance).[4]

  5. Licences may be sublicensed to customers only under a shared or dedicated hosting arrangement; resale, lease or transfer is limited to authorised SmarterTools Partners, and other transfers need SmarterTools' prior written approval.[5]

  6. Maintenance and Support is an optional, annually renewed subscription that entitles the licensee to download updates and submit support requests.[6]
