Sendmail

Sendmail is an open-source mail transfer agent whose copyright and trademark are held by Proofpoint, Inc. It is distributed under the Sendmail License, which allows free redistribution as freeware or open source, with other redistribution terms available from Proofpoint.

  1. The Sendmail License applies unless a redistribution agreement or other licence is obtained from Proofpoint, Inc.[1]

  2. Use, modification and redistribution are permitted only if redistributions are made at no charge beyond reasonable cost of materials and delivery, or are accompanied by the source code or an offer to provide it for up to three years.[2]

  3. Binary redistributions must reproduce the copyright notice and licence terms, and the name sendmail is a trademark of Proofpoint, Inc.[3]

  4. Sendmail releases, including sendmail 8.18.2, are distributed as source archives with GPG signatures from ftp.sendmail.org.[4]
