Scooter Software makes Beyond Compare, a file and folder comparison tool offered in Standard and Pro editions. It is sold as a one-time perpetual licence per user, with site and enterprise licence options.

  1. Beyond Compare may be evaluated for free, but a licence must be purchased for continued use; the evaluation licence covers 30 days.[1]

  2. A per-user licence covers either one person using the software on any number of computers, or one computer used by any number of people one at a time while physically present.[2]

  3. A site licence covers unlimited users at a single named location, extended to Customer locations within a 100-mile radius; an enterprise licence covers all of the Customer's employees worldwide.[3]

  4. The licence fee is a one-time purchase with no annual renewal fees; minor updates are free and major version upgrades are generally offered at half price.[4]

  5. Version 5 list prices are USD 35 per user for Standard and USD 70 per user for Pro, with site licences at USD 5,250/10,500 and enterprise licences at USD 21,000/42,000.[5]
