Sage

Sage makes accounting, ERP, payroll and HR software for small and medium-sized businesses, including Sage 50, Sage 100, Sage 300, Sage X3 and Sage Intacct. Products are sold as subscriptions or licences, and each product is governed by its own end user agreement.

Licensing at a Glance

  • Subscription
  • Perpetual licence
  • Named user
  1. In the US, Sage 50 is sold as three subscription plans: Pro Accounting for one user, Premium Accounting for 1 to 5 users and Quantum Accounting for 1 to 40 users.[1]

  2. The Sage 50 subscription plan is an annual subscription with a lease to the software licence, so the software can only be used while the plan is active.[2]

  3. Sage 50 plans require a minimum one-year commitment and renew automatically; if the subscription is terminated or payment is not received, the customer keeps read-only access to its data.[3]

  4. Sage publishes a separate end user agreement for each US product; Sage X3 is offered under an on-premise subscription agreement, an on-premise perpetual licence agreement and a SaaS subscription agreement.[4]
