Prometheus
Prometheus is an open-source systems monitoring and alerting toolkit and time-series database, hosted by the Cloud Native Computing Foundation. All of its components are released under the Apache License 2.0.

Prometheus was originally built at SoundCloud in 2012 and joined the Cloud Native Computing Foundation in 2016 as its second hosted project, after Kubernetes.[2]
The project describes itself as 100% open source and community-driven.[3]
The Prometheus Steering Committee coordinates with the Linux Foundation and the CNCF on use of the Prometheus trademark.[4]
