PreEmptive Solutions

PreEmptive Solutions, now part of Sembi, makes application protection tools for obfuscation, anti-tamper and runtime self-protection, including Dotfuscator (.NET), DashO (Java and Android) and JSDefender (JavaScript). It licenses them under subscription or perpetual software licence agreements by seats, applications and build machines.

  1. Pricing plans are Starter (1 tech stack, 2 seats, 1 application), Team (8 seats, 5 applications), Group (24 seats, 20 applications) and Enterprise (unlimited seats and applications), all sold by quote.[1]

  2. PreEmptive states there is no usage-based pricing: monthly active users and downloads of protected apps are unlimited at no extra cost.[2]

  3. Under the subscription agreement, customers may buy licences for additional Build Machines, Named Users or Applications; a Named User is one designated natural person.[3]

  4. Each virtual machine counts as a separate Build Machine, and a processing core configured to act independently counts as its own Build Machine.[4]

  5. The initial subscription term is the period in the purchase order or, if none is specified, one year; PreEmptive's audit and certification rights survive termination for eighteen months.[5]
