PDF-XChange

PDF-XChange Co Ltd, whose business began in the UK as Tracker Software Products Ltd, makes the PDF-XChange Editor, printer drivers, PDF-Tools and PDF developer SDKs for Windows. End-user products are sold as perpetual per-user licences with optional annual maintenance, and a free version of the Editor leaves part of the feature set unrestricted.

Licensing at a Glance

  • Perpetual licence
  • Named user
  • Site or enterprise-wide
  • Free tier

  1. All end-user licences are perpetual (lifetime) licences with no annual subscription fees; annual maintenance is optional and provides access to new releases and updates.[1]

  2. Licensing is per user and concurrent usage is not supported: a licence must be held for every user with access to the software, with one desktop and one secondary-device installation allowed for the primary user.[2]

  3. Corporate Site, Country and World Wide packs allow unlimited users within a single physical location, a single country, or worldwide respectively, for a single corporate body or its wholly owned subsidiaries.[3]

  4. The free version of PDF-XChange Editor can be downloaded to test the software, with 257 of its 402 features free and 145 requiring a licence; Editor Plus adds further licensed features.[4]

  5. PDF-XChange Printer Lite is free for non-commercial use only; the commercial-use version is included with PDF-XChange Editor and PDF-Tools.[5]

  6. The volume pricing chart lists single-user, multi-user packs, academic, corporate and government licences, and states that refunds are not offered after licence keys are released.[6]
