pciutils

The PCI Utilities (pciutils), written by Martin Mareš, are open-source tools and a library (lspci, setpci, libpci) for inspecting and configuring PCI devices. They are distributed under the GNU GPL version 2 or later.

Licensing at a Glance

  • Open source
  1. All files in the package may be freely distributed and used under the GNU GPL version 2 or any newer version.[1]

  2. The author states that he does not consider programs that link dynamically to libpci to be derived works of the library.[2]

  3. The project provides source code only, not compiled binaries, with an occasional exception for Windows; releases are signed with Martin Mareš's PGP key.[3]

  4. The pci.ids list of known vendors and devices bundled with the utilities is maintained separately by the PCI ID Database project.[4]
