Paessler

Paessler GmbH makes the PRTG family of network and infrastructure monitoring software. PRTG Network Monitor is licensed as an annual subscription sized by the number of sensors, with a free edition limited to 100 sensors.

  1. All PRTG Network Monitor licence sizes are subscriptions and differ by the number of sensors, from PRTG 500 (up to 500 sensors, about 50 devices) to PRTG 10000 (up to 10,000 sensors, about 1,000 devices); larger environments are directed to PRTG Enterprise Monitor.[1]

  2. The 30-day Trial Edition has no sensor or device limit, and the Freeware Edition includes up to 100 sensors, enough for about 10 devices.[2]

  3. Sensor usage is measured as the monthly average of daily maximum active sensor counts; if it exceeds the licensed limit Paessler may invoice overage, offer an upgrade or enforce the limit technically.[3]

  4. Overage is invoiced at a flat monthly rate per sensor of EUR 2.00 or USD 2.20 for PRTG Network Monitor and EUR 0.30 or USD 0.40 for PRTG Enterprise Monitor.[4]

  5. Downloadable software is licensed as a subscription for the service period under a non-exclusive, non-transferable right for internal business use, and Paessler may audit use on ten days' prior written notice.[5]
