Opera

Opera develops web browsers including Opera, Opera GX, Opera Air and Opera Mini. The browsers are proprietary, free to download and ad-supported, and a paid VPN Pro subscription is sold separately.

Licensing at a Glance

  • Freeware
  • Subscription
  1. The desktop EULA grants a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable licence to use the executable code as installed on the user's personal computer.[1]

  2. Redistribution is allowed only through the application repository of a desktop open source operating system distribution, unmodified, free of charge and with a copy of the EULA; distribution for embedded open source operating systems is not permitted.[2]

  3. Unless permitted by law, users may not decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, modify or create derivative works of the software, and the agreement cannot be assigned or transferred without Opera's written consent.[3]

  4. The software is free to download and ad-supported; source code for bundled open source third-party components is available at sourcecode.opera.com.[4]

  5. Opera VPN Pro is a paid monthly-priced subscription that covers up to six Android and desktop devices.[5]
