NXLog Ltd. develops the NXLog Platform and NXLog Agent for log and telemetry collection, and the free NXLog Community Edition. The platform is licensed by number of data sources rather than data volume, with a free plan for up to 10 sources and a Premium subscription, while Community Edition is distributed under the NXLog Public License.

  1. NXLog Platform is licensed by the number of unique data sources, not data volume; any unique system, device or component that generates logs counts as one source, whether collected with an agent or agentlessly.[1]

  2. When NXLog Agent runs locally, each machine counts as one data source regardless of how many log, metric or trace types it collects (for example, 1,000 workstations plus 500 servers equals 1,500 sources).[2]

  3. The Free plan covers up to 10 sources with the full platform and community support; the Premium plan has unlimited sources, with a list price that falls from USD 12.12 per source per month at 11 sources to USD 5.58 at 100 sources, and volume discounts above 100.[3]

  4. NXLog Community Edition is available at no cost under the NXLog Public License, with source code available on GitLab.[4]

  5. The NXLog Public License v1.0 prohibits paid distribution beyond reasonable copying costs and prohibits bundling with commercial products or services that depend on the software to operate; a commercial licence is available for those uses.[5]

  6. Under the NXLog Public License, derivative works must be made public in source code form and the licensor must be notified by e-mail.[6]
