Numecent
Numecent develops Cloudpaging and Cloudpager, technology for packaging Windows applications and delivering them to physical and virtual desktops. Its software is licensed under a EULA with limits encoded in a software licence key, such as named users and devices.
Licensing at a Glance
- Named user
- Per device
- Site or enterprise-wide
The software licence key records data elements including SKU, validity dates, maximum named users, maximum devices (guest operating systems) and maximum sessions.[1]
A named user may install the software on multiple devices for their own use; a named user licence cannot be shared, and a user stops counting after 90 days without access.[2]
A site licence grants rights to all employees at a site or across a corporation, and is identified by an "STE" element in the software licence key.[3]
Permitted use is limited to the licensee's internal business, educational or research use in non-hazardous environments, and the licence is non-exclusive and non-transferable.[4]
Numecent may audit no more than once in any 12-month period; if an audit reveals an underpayment of more than 5%, the licensee must pay the shortfall, and records must be kept for two years after the EULA ends.[5]
