NCH Software

NCH Software makes a large range of Windows and Mac utilities for audio, video, graphics, dictation and business, including WavePad, VideoPad and Express Scribe. Many programs have free versions for personal, non-commercial home use, with paid licences required for professional features and business use.

  1. NCH free downloads are offered as free for home use with most features at no cost; some professional tools require a paid licence, and downloading confirms the version is for personal, non-commercial use only.[1]

  2. Professional tools in WavePad are available only after purchasing an upgrade to WavePad Master's Edition, activated by entering the registration details in the software.[2]

  3. The NCH EULA allows copying or distributing the complete unaltered installation file but forbids distributing registration codes without permission; distributing a code makes the distributor liable for the full purchase price for each location where unauthorised use occurs.[3]

  4. Under the EULA, customers who do not agree to the terms may return the software within 14 days for a full refund, and liability is limited to a refund of the amount paid.[4]

  5. US residents contract with NCH Software, Inc. under Colorado law with an arbitration agreement and class-action waiver; customers elsewhere contract with NCH Software Pty Ltd under the law of the Australian Capital Territory.[5]
