NcFTP Software

NcFTP Software publishes the NcFTP Client FTP programs, the NcFTPd Server for UNIX and the LibNcFTP programming library. The client is free under the Clarified Artistic License, while NcFTPd and LibNcFTP are licensed commercially.

Licensing at a Glance

  1. NcFTP Client is a set of free FTP application programs; donations are requested but not required, and its licence agreement is the Clarified Artistic License.[1]

  2. NcFTPd Server is not free or open source software and is no longer a supported product; existing customers may continue using it on a self-serve basis.[2]

  3. LibNcFTP is a paid library with a free evaluation period, after which users must pay or stop using and distributing applications built with it; compiled programs can be distributed without royalties, but the source may not be redistributed.[3]

  4. Registered LibNcFTP users are entitled to free e-mail support and free upgrades.[4]
