Native Instruments
Native Instruments makes music production and DJ software such as Komplete, Kontakt and Traktor, alongside hardware. Software is licensed to the individual licensee, registered with a serial number through the Native Access tool.
Licensing at a Glance
- Perpetual licence
- Per device
The EULA is between the licensee and inMusic NI GmbH of Berlin; software must be registered with a serial number via the Native Access tool, and unactivated products only run in a time-limited demo mode.[1]
The licensee may install and personally use the software on three devices, provided it is used regularly on only one; simultaneous use on more than one device is not permitted.[2]
Products may not be used on a network by multiple users unless each user holds a licence.[3]
Software may be resold or transferred permanently if the recipient agrees to the EULA and the seller removes all copies; bundles can only be transferred as a whole.[4]
NFR (Not For Resale) products are for demonstration, testing and evaluation only and cannot be resold, and EDU versions are restricted to students and staff of educational institutions.[5]
