Materialise

Materialise is a Belgian developer of 3D printing and medical software, including Magics, Mimics, 3-matic and the OrthoView orthopaedic planning tool developed by its UK subsidiary Meridian Technique. Software is licensed annually or perpetually, node-locked or floating, under separate industrial and medical EULAs.

  1. Meridian Technique Limited trades as Materialise UK; its Southampton site is the global development and competence centre for the Materialise OrthoView orthopaedic surgical planning tool.[1]

  2. Magics licences are sold annually, with multi-year contracts available, and include software updates and technical support.[2]

  3. Magics can be licensed node-locked (usable on only one computer) or floating (shared by multiple users, including across locations).[3]

  4. The medical EULA covering Mimics Core, 3-matic, Mimics inPrint, OrthoView and Mimics Enlight defines Annual (annual subscription), Perpetual (no time limit) and Subscription licences, plus temporary evaluation and, for OrthoView, research licences.[4]

  5. Under the medical EULA the License File is personal and non-transferable; a License Transfer only means moving the licence from one machine to another under the licensee's control, not sharing it with other users or organisations.[5]

  6. Materialise publishes separate End-User Software License Agreements for its industrial software and its healthcare software.[6]
